Good to see the team getting out of the early season funk. However there is no way we can keep up this pace with our top two d-men playing like this, Hughes especially! I think it would be a good idea to give Hronek, kravchenko and wallace a 5-game trial each playing with Hughes to see who’s the best fit. He’s arguably our most important player and we need him at the top of our game. Also good to see that our third line centre problems may be solved with the long-awaited arrival of Tom goldmann. Man, this team is firing on all cylinders once again. I'm not sure we need to tinker much with the lineup. We might look to add experience at the deadline on the 4th line and maybe also an extra dman. Apart from that, unless we want to look into upgrading on players like Dobson, Tippett or Raty, I don't see us making a big splash as we're better off keeping the value we have. If we want to target a potential ufa rights, might as well do it at the draft when it wouldn't cost us a lot. Pastrnak and Willy Nyl are top options for that scenario on short term extentions. What we might look into would be to find a conservative seller (as a full pledged seller wouldn't trade a top pick) and see if we can preamptively upgrade our 1st pick by trading it along side Esche and a 2nd in the hope that we end up with a top 15 pick instead of being 28 to 32ish. It's a gamble but it would also be less costly that trying to do so at the draft. Lets hope that Dobson and Hughes can turn things around in the 2nd half and that they can carry this team during the playoffs otherwise, with the kind of $ we're paying them, they'd be options to get traded; 40ish pts just isn't good enough coming from them. This team has what it needs on paper to win a championship so lets see of the players can put it together and win it all once again. Go 'Nucks!

Maybe you could trade Esche for Johan Prestberg from the Kraken? Prestberg is being buried on the 4th line in the AHL (judging by his ice time) after just being drafted 7th overall. Due to his draft status, one would expect the Kraken organization to deploy him in the best situation for his development. But the Kraken are evidently not doing that right now. Most likely, Prestberg feels slighted by the Kraken and feels like he needs and deserves more ice time. He's probably thinking, "What was the point of signing my ELC, leaving my family, friends, and teammates, and going to a foreign country across the Atlantic (I assume he's from Sweden) just to be disrespected by barely playing in the AHL?" A trade for Prestberg does have some precedence, both in your Franchise Mode and real life, as there have been examples of prospects being traded quickly after being drafted. In this Franchise, you traded for a 19 year-old Luke Misa. In the Sharks(?) Franchise, you traded for a 19 year-old Carcillo for the same reasons I now propose the idea of trading for Prestberg. Cutter Gauthier was traded from the Flyers to the Ducks a year after being drafted due to him wanting out. Filip Forsberg was traded from the Caps to the Preds less than a year after being drafted. Esche would also probably want out for the same reasons as Prestberg. I think this is a fair trade, as two young, high potential players who haven't gotten the ice time they deserve would be swapped for a change in scenery and a hopeful jump in their ice time and production. Just in case there are two goalies in Coachella Valley who are the same or higher overall compared to Esche, you need to take back one of their AHL goalies to be 3rd goalie in either the AHL or NHL, in order to make the storyline make sense.

Alright Assistant GM Legend3245 is back in the booth! Firstly, it sucks that we barely missed the playoffs and that the team that beat us for the last spot, Anaheim ended up winning the whole cup. Already in this franchise mode there are so many juicy storylines to follow. Secondly love the extension on Swayman, kulikov and teuvo. Gotta love the growth on Slim Shady. In terms of feedback for next episode, I don't think we should extend giordano or kessel or johnson or benning but should extend peeke. Those guys often end up back in free agency anyway and having cap space for potential free agents and trades is flexibility that I like and which is realistic for Arizona(real life they have a lot of cap space). Also in the first draft, trading for picks next year is always a good strategy. In terms of some potential free agents that I'm intrested in include Sprong, tarasenko and toffoli.

For contracts, I don't think you should resign Pastrnak because he takes spots away from our young players who we want to grow. I think you should sign Bishop, Blomdahl, Zherdev, Metropolit, Olvecky, and Nesterov. Sign the expiring unsigned prospects. For trades, I think Prucha, O'Dell, Pastrnak on a sign-and-trade deal at $4.15M X 1, Benoit, and Brylin should be traded, as they are stagnant, expiring free agents that we need to get rid of to make way for younger players. I don't think we should make any free agent signings, as I think we can fill all of our holes organizationally. 21 28 61 94 127 160 226 are the current draft picks. (Pin all the guys I suggest) For the draft, with the 21st pick, I think you should use to trade for Yandle from the Stars because he has better potential than anything you've scouted around that pick. Maybe package some permutation of the above trade-out guys in the deal. Hell, you might not even need the 21st pick, maybe next year's 2nd round pick plus an aforementioned roster player permutation could get it done. And then you could trade up to 18 and then 17 to draft Kaleta, probably doing pick swaps from 21 to 18 and then random AHL player swaps from 18 to 17. With the 28th pick, draft Tukio. Dodge has either the same or farther ETA compared to Tukio and Westcott, and does not have a unique nationality like they do, so don't draft him. With your 2nd round pick, trade up to 57 or so, swapping random AHL guys, to draft Preston Gomez. With your 3rd round pick, draft Lubomir Kopecky. With your 4th round pick, draft Boris Arkhipov. With your 5th and 7th round picks, use them in a trade-up along with any excess of the aforementioned trade pieces in a package to trade up to about 42 to draft Stu Westcott. I think that Cole Perfetti should be the captain. He is one of the most experienced players on the team, has performed well for a long time on both the Jets and the Starfleet, has bounced back from a slightly disappointing 60-something point campaign a couple of years ago, which shows grit, resolve, and desire to improve, led the team in both regular season and playoff points, is extremely able and willing to sacrifice his own goal production to a degree and pass the puck to his teammates, and is the highest-paid player on the team. I think the lines could look like this next season: 1st F: Valicevic-Nazar-Lafreniere 2nd F: Stenberg-McIntyre-Perfetti 3rd F: Lucic-Emelin-Rask 4th F: Bishop-Blomdahl-Metropolit Depth F: Nesterov or M. Olvecky 1st D: Hutson-Seider 2nd D: Erixon-Ramirez 3rd: Kimmo Ylonen-Bolduc Depth D: Bernard-Docker G: Mikkola-Zherdev Depth G: whoever

Well that was disappointing in G7. 1. I think we need to capitalize on Stenberg's trade value after his resurgence from past years. 2. Need to resign Pastrnak. His ~5M asking is great for a top 6 player. 3. Trade the 81 OVR defenseman asking for insane money as a 3rd pair ish level guy. 4. I think we need to move a top 6 player for a true top line PPG guy. Upgrading might get us over the top which we seem to need after a few consecutive early playoff exits now.

Watch these all the way through, every time! Too detailed for this video, but would love to see more of your opinions on player development. Even if they aren't based on hard DATA. Rule of thumbs like, when is it likely the plug should be pulled on a player. When you like them to be in Juniors, AHL, NHL (based on age, potential and OVR) Keep up the greatness!

Anyone know anything about “be a pro mode”? I’m trying to get my pro onto a specific team but can’t seem to get the GM to trade me to that team. I’ve save-scummed a hundred times but can’t get my team to pop in the trade offer. I’ve tried all 3 options (trade me to a contender, trade me to a specific division, or any team) but nothing has turned up with the team I want to play for. Any tips/ideas on how to get traded to the team you want in the be a pro mode?

Hands down, Kings won this trade. Even if Kuemper plays garbage for us, his contract length and aav is less than PLD. Also, maybe Kuemper can thrive in our system again. PLD went through three teams. Never been a fan of his. No drive. No thanks.

Dubois contract is wayyy worse...Kuemper is 3 year at 5.25 and they need a goalie, Dubois has SEVENS years at 8.5, thats 4 years more not 2

I think you should package Lebedev with a couple of those 2nds to try and get a 1st round pick, then flip that 1st + Tippet for Raymond. Other than that, I think the team is set. I'd maybe sign Hronek to a 1 year extension at around 4 mil or less if you can. I believe it's worth a shot at trying Hughes with Dobson, as they are our best defensemen. Let Ardvisson and Wallace go on the second pair, I think both of them being offensive defensemen, we should give them a slightly longer leash to see how they can perform together. 20-30 game trial as a pair, and if it doesn't work, switch it up. Only other thing is to add the born leader X factor back to Podz. We're going to have to keep adding it as he is older so he'll keep losing it, but he's earned that.

Great draft! Love seeing all the good defensive prospects being added. Is Kravchenko the answer to our second line chemistry? I don’t think he should start the season in the NHL, but if people are slacking and moves need to be made then that OFD/DFD chemistry would be nice to see on that second line. If everything‘s working on the blue line, I would say we don’t force anything. Also, I’m so down to see what happens with Dobson line 1. That’s my two cents. Thanks for entertaining my comment here! Minor spoiler: My headcanon for why Ramirez played so horribly was that he was playing injured

I think the top defensive pair should be Hughes and Dobson because they have both had great production pairing with the other's player type before, Hughes (OFD) previously pairing with Hronek (TWD) and Dobson (TWD) previously pairing with Arvidsson (OFD). Also, when these pairings happened, Hronek and Arvidsson even had good production while pairing with Hughes and Dobson respectively. I am confident that Hughes and Dobson will pair well together due to previous evidence. However, I am concerned about the 2nd pair of Arvidsson and Wallace. Maybe you can give them a 15-game trial together in the regular season to see if they work well together. If they do, then you can keep them together. If they don't, split them up, preferably keeping Wallace on the 2nd pair for growth reasons, and having Quint or Kravchenko be his defensive partner there. Put Arvidsson on the 3rd pair with the other one of Quint or Kravchenko. Like I said, you don't have to split Wallace and Arvidsson if they perform well. Also, for growth reasons, you should put Wallace as the distributor on the 2nd pair. The 3rd pair should start out being Quint and Kravchenko, as we need them to grow and I don't think that will happen if either of them play in the AHL. You should keep both Hronek and Lebedev for depth, as we did have a lot of defensive injuries last season, iirc. I do think we should trade for Mikael Samuelsson from Ottawa and also Lucas Raymond, depending on Raymond's extension status. Does Raymond have an extension? If so, what is the salary and term? If it is too rich, we shouldn't trade for him. I would assume that Ottawa is a buyer, so they would probably want Tippett and Goldmann (possibly Hronek, if you need more value). Detroit is a seller, so they would probably want assets like Goldmann, our draft picks, and Esche. In one of these trades, we should acquire a better 13th forward and send Beaulieu down to play bottom 6 in the AHL. If we trade Goldmann, we should also acquire a veteran 4th line center as well.

Great draft and offseason Data! Forwards and Goaltending look really good! I definitely think that Beaulieu should remain our 13th forward this season; I don't think he would get any benefit from playing in the AHL, and having Beaulieu in the NHL would give us some physicality in our lineup. I do think that Tippett should stay in our top six, but we should be prepared to make a deadline acquisition for a top six forward to replace Tippett, should he fail to perform again this season. The real question mark comes with our defense. Ideally, I think Quint and Kravchenko should be our bottom pair, so that one or both of them could grow. But, we also have Hronek, who is a franchise legend. I don't think, realistically, that he would want to be traded, so we have to make some kind of decision regarding him. I personally see two options. 1) Quint and Kravchenko become the bottom pair, and Hronek is our 7th D. We then trade Lebedev. 2) Hronek has a guaranteed spot, and Quint and Kravchenko battle it out for the last spot. The winner stays up and the loser is sent down to the AHL. Lebedev is made 7th D. Personally, I prefer option 2. Hronek has been here since Day 1 of this series, and he deserves to go out playing, not sitting in the press box. Storyline wise, I much prefer that. Unfortunately, that could have the adverse effect of stifling growth from our young players. It's sad to say, but Hronek feels more like a brick wall to our younger players rather than an active contributor to our team. Anyways, all the best Data and I know you'll make the right decision!

Good offseason data, maybe at this point we should aim for a 40 win team again because they seem to be gaurenteed to win the cup! I like this new look squad, the bottom six is very young so hopefully they sim well, if not we may have to go acquire a veteran. The defense is obviously the big question mark, wallace and ardvisson as two ofd on a pairing scares me, but on the other hand i think we need to try a top pair of Hughes-dobson just to see if it would work. Quint should also battle with kravchenko for a bottom pairing spot. We also know hronek can play anywhere in the lineup so that’s a good bit of insurance. As per usual the preseason will reveal all, we can always switch it up. We need to trade out esche and lebedev- maybe for a 79 ovr veteran who can slot into the bottom 6 if nessecary? As I said the youth in the bottom six scares me. If we want to upgrade our forwards, kempe, raymond, yammamoto, and snuggerudd would be good options, although we can probably take care of that at the halfway point. I would honestly let Kravchenko compete with Quint in the preseason. If he loses to Quint, then let him spend a year in Abbotsford and use Lebedev as 7th. If he outperforms Quint, maybe Quint goes to 7th and Lebedev gets moved out
